Do ADF ranks translate perfectly to APS levels? No, and here is why
Official equivalence tables exist, and they are useful for pay and protocol. As a guide to what level you should apply for, they mislead as often as they help.

I am about to separate. Where do I start?

Will you put my clearance level on my resume?
Only where an application specifically asks for it, and stated conservatively. It never goes on LinkedIn or any public profile, in line with the Protective Security Policy Framework's rules on publicising a clearance online.
I already left years ago. Does any of this still apply?
Yes. Former service is service. The discount and the translation work the same whether you left last month or a decade ago.
What is PSPF Direction 003-2025, and how does it affect my job search?
It is the specific instrument behind the general advice to keep your clearance level off public profiles. It places restrictions on publishing your security clearance level online, so the level belongs inside an application to the employer who needs it, not in a LinkedIn headline.
I am a current Reservist. Should I mention that on my resume?
Yes, and name what it means. The Defence Reserve Service (Protection) Act gives Reservists specific employment protections tied to their service. Stated plainly, that turns Reservist from a scheduling question in a reader's mind into a legislated one.
Does the same resume work for an APS application, a defence industry role and a civilian employer?
Not without some adjustment. Each reader brings a different amount of built-in context: an APS reader wants your service mapped to their framework, a defence industry reader keeps more of the technical register, and a civilian employer needs the acronyms translated out entirely.
